Resin "re-casts" are still heavily proliferated in the hobby figure segment, so I can see why there would be some serious concern over quality. I wouldn't want an officially marketed figure with quality that could mirror a subsequent re-cast, which in all likelihood will happen considering how often figures of currently-popular series are bootlegged. I also find it kind of strange that the marketing company itself would accept that, since in all likelihood these will be limited run figurines at fairly typical anime figure prices (+$120 USD onwards).

The only advantage it may serve is the recent heat waves that have given PVC figures their Michael Jackson inspired leans, which while easily remedied is still a visual inconvenience. Most resins will not be as malleable as PVC.

Good for him, Be-full seems to be your typical, deceptive, corporate tyrants, who cut corners. Cutting corners doesn't belong in an industry high end market such as figures.
