How sad. I just met Charles Martinet last weekend, too. RIP, and best wishes to his family.

How sad. I remember watching a G4 documentary about how Mario was created. Mr. Segale may have been a jackass to the people at Nintendo, but he sure did serve as the inspiration for such a beloved character in video games.

And what's even funner is Mario wouldn't have been popular hadn't it been for a sailor man from comics called Popeye (yes, that Popeye).

Yes, the Popeye arcade game could have been so much better... Confused

But seems like half of the Segale stories think that Mario was invented with the cultural thunderbolt of the Nintendo Super Mario, and not Donkey Kong or the arcade Bros.
