not following the manga very closely but how bad is it with haitus compared to dgrayman or HxH?

It's hard to compare how "bad" it is, but the fanbase generally seems more patient despite the fact that the hiatuses always tend to spring up at the worst times, cliffhanger-wise.

Have to say, this series is so good I will happily wait between volumes. Hope it's more a case of him deciding to take his time in order to pin down what he wants to do next with the story and characters, and less a case of burnout or illness. Wish him well, regardless of the reasons.
