Because of course there's going to be DLC for a remake of a fraction of a twenty-year-Old game.

I don't think that this will work well. The game is designed for a real time action RPG battle system and even if it's nice that they think about hardcore turn based fans that wouldn't even try a real time one no matter how good it is, I don't think that this will do the game or any turn based fan justice.

I got excited about this news just to be disappointed again.

It's just an auto-battle option. It makes you automatically attack with your weapon to fill up the ATB bar.
So the tactical aspect of physical counters is probably gone then, and also you can't control if an enemy dies or not, because you auto-attack them. It seems like the action-based combat is more classic than classic mode, since you can choose to not attack.

No thanks. I was hoping for a classic mode, but this is not it.
