I guess it's unlikely that new Lupin III movie will open in the US and some European countries, because it's not popular in the western countries.

This isn’t entirely accurate. It’s actually very popular in various parts of Europe, particularly Italy where it has already been confirmed to be getting a theatrical release. Plus TMS and Discotek have been a lot more vigorous in their exposure of Lupin in the US recently. The last two series have even made it onto Toonami. Plus even though many people haven’t watched the series, many western fans are at least aware of the character. So not only is a western release inevitable, I also strongly believe we could get a limited theatrical run with how much of a stir this film has made with the larger body of animation fans on western social media. |
