So I get that Sailor Moon had a huge impact on the magical girl genre based on the 'laid the groundwork for every group of girl heroes' comment. What was it that it brought to the table aside from a main female cast? Magical girls had existed since Sally the Witch and had many shows in-between, so a number of elements to Sailor Moon weren't new, what was?
