Article is saying GMA is producing a new live action Voltes V series.

Does that mean it is being made in the Philippines, or that GMA is funding a Japanese production made especially for the Philippines.

Reason I am asking is that the Philippines makes a lot of super hero and fantasy related teleserye (television drama) series. Considering the production values of the original live action series from the Seventies, this is well within the ballpark for a teleserye production.

...This is going to be such a disaster unless they have a really, REALLY rich sponsor or foreign aid.

For those who don't know, Voltes V is really important in the Philippines:

That wiki article you cited said the show has been in production for 5 years. Hopefully, that means they have had the time and money to put the love into it. My expectations are a little higher now.

The big problem would be at what time would GMA-7 plan to air the show, Primetime weekdays or weekend?

Unlike most countries, Primetrade block on Weekdays in Philippine television airs from Monday to Friday, similar to daytime dramas in United States and Latin America. If they decided to air the show on a "horizontal" format, then it will surely lead to a disaster.

For what it’s worth, someone who claimed to work for the studio handling the effects, a local studio called Riot Inc, is saying they wanted to release it seasonally to ensure a quality product.

Yeah I’m not too worried this time. Apparently the CGI is done by Riot Inc. Post Productions and is actually supervised by TOEI. There’s also news about the show filming and doing post production work before even one episode airs. Here’s the article below.
