I was surprised at how good this movie is. I agree that it's not the most subtle, but I admittedly wasn't a fan of the previous two Colorido movies, Penguin Highway and A Whisker Away, so this one was a huge improvement over those IMHO. Plus, what the movie lacks in subtlety, I think it makes up for in regards to really committing to being a survival anime and all the little details that come with it, like actually having to find food and dealing with their environment crumbling before their eyes. But Reina seriously got on my nerves. I wanted to smack her so much.
I also saw the English dub and thought it was fine...except for one thing: Why is everybody pronouncing Kosuke's name as "Koh-Sue-Kay"? Shouldn't it be "Koh-Skay"? I'm pretty sure the U in Kosuke is silent. |

I recall that in the Japanese audio it was pronounced without the U. Seems like someone behind the dub thought that it would be a good idea to pronounce it as close as to how it's written as possible. Maybe it sounds better that way in English? Haven't heard the dub so dunno. |
