As Aqua moves through the plot in his quest to solve the mystery, he unearths the wriggling insects hiding underneath the glittery rocks, and that many of the production staff aren't pleased about him fixing their lackluster drama says something.

My read on this is, it connects to the whole thing about how Kana's come to prioritize being easy to work with above all else. Which partly comes from her childhood experience with Aqua, but his biggest strength lies in understanding the artistic intent in a scene, and here he's explicitly choosing that over being "easy". Nobody likes when things don't go according to plan; nobody likes having to work overtime to adjust for the unexpected. Even though the director gets what Aqua's doing and thinks on his feet fast enough to give directions that suit it, it's still going to be a hassle.
