Movie theaters are utterly barren until next week and Dune 2. My local theater even stuck this in the IMAX theaters, that's how empty they are. I figure they have one week to make a decent amount of cash, and then next week it's all Dune.
Gotta love this quote from Deadline -
| Quote: | | Thank God for Crunchyroll during depressed times at the box office; they can fill the void. However, the overall box office stands at $64M, -32% from a year ago. March couldn’t get here any faster with Dune Part Two. |

Wish I’d read this article before I dropped $13.50 to watch 55 minutes of recycled content along with the first episode of next season. Wish I’d just waited a few months for Crunchyroll release. No wonder theaters are empty with the lack of compelling content. Outside of Dune 2 trailers were pretty pathetic. At least when I paid the same to see Paprika in the theater a few weeks ago I got to see something that more than justified the price of admission, despite being nearly 20 years old.

It got a B+ CinemaScore, the same as To the Swordsmith Village. It made 10.1 million in America and Canada. Certainly a lower grade than what a genre flick that is specifically designed to pander to its core audience should get but still ok. Film Red got a flat A, which is fascinating as the core audience ended up turning against it after release. Both in Japan and abroad but casual fans loved the film. Uta is even on the latest color spread.
