What a way to close the year, the entire Top 30, according to Famitsu's website, is comprised of Nintendo Switch games, I remember some people in other forums were mentioning that Astro Bot, Metaphor ReFantazio and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth would get some bumps in sales thanks to the Game Awards but it seems that the awards don't have any impact in sales in Japan. Not even the PS5 version of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake managed to chart. And in terms of hardware sales the Switch only sold 169 less units compared to what they sold the same week from last year, while the PS5 sold 25,232 units less, and that counting the PS5 Pro, though weirdly enough, the Xbox Series sold 2,849 more units compared to last year.
In terms of software sales, Animal Crossing New Horizon crossed the 8 million physical copies sold milestone.
