Well, the trend of attractive women in Gundam continues.

Sayla Mass I assume for the role, I mean she looks close enough I would've liked Margot Robbie but she might be a slight too old to play Sayla. I mean who's going to play Amuro, had they made the live-action Gundam film a long time ago, I always thought Shia Lebouf would've played Amuro if they had made this movie back in 2007/2008.

Is this supposed to be an original work with Gundams of its own or is it gonna be an adaptation of an existing Gundam series? If it's the former I can only hope that it has some proper Tomino-level dumb names. Quattro Bajeena my beloved...

I'm happy if she joins. She's not the best actress around, but she's still good and has enough star-power to also put bums on seats.

We don’t know because much like the Voltron movie, the script is under lock and key. When they switched directors, they threw out the previous scriptwriter’s work (which as per that Youtube video sounded like bad 08th MS Team fanfiction). She would be great for Sayla. Hell, I’d take her as Berah Ronah for a Crossbone Gundam movie (cue the trailer with Alestorm!) But my biggest fear is this will be an original story that comes off as 08th MS Team fanfic. |

As someone who has only recently caught up in UC, I gotta say, they better view this as being closer to Dunkirk than to Transformers. I have no confidence in any producer's capability to comprehend anime genres. Partly because most of them are over 50 and can't comprehend new trends.

Kinda like older anime fans who slag off on modern stuff for not being good as stuff from the 70’s 80’s and early 90’s? |

As someone who doesn’t keep up with modern celebrities someone explain to me who she is and why so many Gundam fans on social media were mad about this.

She’s an actress most famous for her supporting role in Euphoria, a rather controversial HBO series. And most Gundam fans don’t want the movie to be made, period. |

A popular actress most famous for HBO's Euphoria (who is, and there's no real way to say this without seeming creepy, I apologize, very hot) and... I don't know why. She's American? That seems to be the complaint every time a live-action anime adaptation happens |

She's best known for the HBO series Euphoria and the horror film Immaculate (which she was actually attached to nearly a decade ago for languishing in development hell). Funnily enough, Sneider actually claimed she was attached to a Johnny Depp film after Immaculate before she shot the rumor down and he spent the next few days screaming on social media. As for why they're mad as Gundam, who the heck knows. Hollywood with Gundam I guess torqued some people off |

So people are complaining about the idea of adapting Gundam into live-action despite Netflix's One Piece being that good. Are these the same people that were OK with "yellow-washing" the live-action Attack on Titans, and Fullmetal Alchemist films aka the caucasian characters in the AOT and FMA being played by Japanese actors/actresses*? *Emphasis on what I said: Oh, and the ol "Japan is homogenous population" explanation is not a valid excuse for both of the live-action Japanese films to be "yellow-washed" when South Korea and China were able to get Hollywood actors/actresses to appear in their films. Like for example Brandon Routh appearing in a Chinese film in 2016. So you're telling me that China is able to get Brandon Routh in their film, but Shinji Higuchi, the director of the live-action Attack on Titan film couldn't work with Hollywood production to get Logan Lerman to play Eren Yeager instead of the late Haruma Miura for the live-action film. I can say the same for the live-action FMA film too. |

White washing is a valid criticism of live action anime remakes but I somehow doubt the people mad there’s a woman in the live action Gundam are the same people mad about white washing.
