Now I wonder just how in the world they're going to fit Ingrid into the canon because she's always been in a weird limbo

She has already been since one of the old sfz3 games.

She is a goddess and the origin of the psycho power.

Now they have to elaborate or retcon

That was a hilarious trailer and man, the new designs are so cool. I like Alex’s redesign far more than any of his past designs.

C.Viper was my main for a long, long time so to see her back again gives me nostalgia. However, she’s not likely to play like her old self unless it’s gated behind meter, because she’d likely be top tier out of the gate. Her new design’s sick and I can’t wait to see how she plays.

I never really minded Ingrid at all but wasn’t that interested in her until this reveal, her new design’s amazing, very mysterious and almost creepy to me for some reason. This is a chance to revamp her moveset and make her extremely flashy. Out of all the characters, she’s the character I’m most intrigued about.

EDIT: Creepy isn’t the proper phrase, a slightly better phrase would be “alien”.

I don't believe Alpha 3 Max is considered the canon version of Alpha 3, lore-wise, since Yun was also in it, and he should be way too young by that point, since the Alpha games take place before SFII, let alone SFIII.

Therefore, Ingrid has never been in a canon Street Fighter game. That being said, I imagine they won't change her origin all that much anyway.
