The anime got way too heavy near the end and then ended way too soon. Even still, here's hoping they include the "akuma" that we all need in the live action. Romantic Killer isn't Romantic Killer without that star power.

They've gotten a lot of mileage out of this manga!

For a second I thought "you know this is probably a good manga/anime to do the live action treatment with, not too much over the top, impossible to translate stuff there."
Then I remembered that live action is never gonna be able to capture the majesty of Anzu's face game:
Still I'm glad that in any form this story is still getting love. I feel like a lot of people slept on it when it came out because that was still when Netflix was still all in on the binge model, which tends to stifle discussion (and because 2022 was a year full of extremely good and popular shows). But I would easily put it as one of my favorites from 2022 and hands down one of the best Netflix Original Anime.

I’m glad they haven’t given up on this manga yet! I know S2 is a long shot, but I really, really loved S1 and bought the manga afterward. One can hope!

I mean, while I liked the idea of a S2 on its face, S1 adapted the whole manga. I mean I guess they can do an anime-original continuation but I'd be immediately wary of that mainly because there's really nowhere else to take the story beyond actually just doing a typical shoujo romance, which is what the series was all about trying to avoid.

I get where you're coming from but the anime DID add a hook that wasn't in the original one, and I feel like Romantic Killer is one of those manga that everyone who has read it cheers for it. I don't doubt the original author has notes up their sleeve for a potential continuation should sales ever merit it.
