Favorite bit so far was the Meeting of the Imoutos, which I had never thought about happening. Sometimes a joke strikes you out of nowhere, and I found myself laughing for about a minute straight when it turned out Raido's seemingly more normal sister is prone to exaggerated fantasies too. Can't tell you why that hit me so hard, but it did.

It kind of makes me sad the reviewer didn't know there's already a fantastic Like a Dragon/Animal Crossing crossover, with the incredibly detailed minigame Dondoko Island within Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It may be with humans and not cartoon animals (mostly) and features best boy Ichiban rather than our beloved Dragon of Dojima, but it's definitely an animal crossing experience Very Happy

Enjoyable return for the series. The animal crossing intro didn't do much for me, but got some laughs when it crossed over into Yakuza Laughing

I missed this quirky cast and Aharen and Raido's adorable romance (coupled with Aharen's lack of personal space and Raido's tendency to mental extremes). Now we've even got a Nao Toyama Gyaru who is just as wholesome and dorky as everybody else!

Raido was born to play immersion gaming and get lost in it. Animal Crossing by way of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios and CD Projekt Red indeed. Also his idea of a drunk person is so...Raido.

I love how Raido's sister is prone to delusions as much as he is...and finally meets Aharen's little sister.

I'm enjoying the show--it was the thing I was looking forward to the most before the season started--but not nearly as much as the first season. It's nice to see more with the main character's younger siblings. But frankly--and I may be alone in this--I always found the Park Kids and Aharen's jealous "rival" the the most annoying part of the show, and they've gotten a lot of play lately. I really miss the school setting and characters, which have really gotten short shrift this season. Nosebleed-Sensei and her maybe girlfriend in particular have been in woefully short supply. Maybe they feel her bit is played out, but I beg to differ.

I think the only segment I've gone back and rewatched this season* is when Raido thinks he's drunk and ends up thinking he's a punk; i.e., being aggressively nice and supportive of everyone. It's shocking when he picks up Ren and actually laughs out loud, a burst of merriment from a normally stone-faced character.

(Oh, wait, I also rewatched the one where we learn Raido's seemingly normal sister is herself prone to exaggerated fantasies. That was fun.)

Still enjoying it, but back to the main cast, please. That's my vote, anyway.

This week's episode was pretty subdued, but unlike the reviewer, I was actually pretty pleased with Futaba's recurring realization that the entire Aharen family (and her gyaru friend) are more likely to capture A-kun's heart than she is.

Eru's attempts to maintain some semblance of respectability while simultaneously sucking at everything the kids wanted her to teach them was also a nice gag, and I like that so much of the characters' behavior is baked in. It really shows how well-realized the characters are that it all feels natural.

No romcom is complete without a class trip/amusement park and stealth Disney episode!

That bright smile on Aharen's face was absolutely precious.

I'm curious where they're going with Sato and Ishikawa.

I'm so glad Riku has finally found a friend group where she feels accepted and supported.

Great comparison of this series and Scrubs! BTW, I'm getting off on you getting off on Raido as King-Of-All-Boyfriends, it's the highlight for sure; he's so stoic but when he smiles I can't help but crack one too.

Fitting for an Oshiro-focused episode to have so much yuri content right down to their new hot-blooded homeroom teacher being routinely turned on by any yuri in her vicinity.

Animator was the least paying job and specifically called out for one you'd want to replace...

I got the later references, but what was the first face change Raido had referencing?

But the idea of a musical episode isn't really something you really see in non-musical anime—in fact, to be honest, the only other contender that springs to mind is the rap episode from the first season of Aharen-san.

Red Garden was kind of a musical? I mean it wasn't entirely one, but for no apparent reason in the early episodes, the girls would break into song as if it were a musical, and as per the genre, no one found that odd. It was very weird. And the remake of Rose of Versailles is definitely a musical.

Of course the definitive musical episode of series television was the "Once More, With Feeling" episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but that's not anime.

Is the "Life" game part from the manga? I don't recall it.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War had a rap battle episode as well.

Musicals...the game of live...figuring out careers...culture festivals...the gang is making the most of their last year of high school, but how much Raido and Aharen support and understand each other no matter what and cherish their friends will always make it so meaningful and wholesome.

Also...there goes my SatoxIshikawa ship. I guess he spoiler[probably has feelings for Raido?][/code]

If you're guessing, it's not really a spoiler (and the review also mentioned it). Smile

But I don't think there's any question either. Earlier on, he commented that he just can't compete with Ahren. What else could he be competing with her for other than Raido? And notice that he didn't say he couldn't compete with Raido.

Then there was his conversation with Sato. He immediately let her down but without an explanation.

On top of that, just before she confessed, he commented "It's hard to be normal, isn't it." Her apology after he said that suggests that she might well have been aware of his attraction to Raido but was still hoping she could change him? Suffice as a substitute? It felt like she took it as him chiding her about complaining that her normal life wasn't progressing smoothly, compared to how hard things are for him, but I think he meant that it's hard to be "normal" even when you are "normal."

So, yeah, that ship has sailed. Sorry. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
