Shoulda picked Shohei Ohtani for Kaneda. Anyway, I heard rumours of a live-action film as early as the 90's.

Well that's something... you would've thought WB would've shat out something cheap just to keep it.

Maybe the rumors are right, and WB wants to divest itself off as much as possible so they can sell to SONY.

I'm sure Netflix's BET department is banging on Kodansha's door as we speak...

Kodansha should just get the Godzilla -1 guys to do it.

Why bother risking money adapting this why you already have Minecraft? Wink

I don't even hate live action anime remakes as much as most people but some things you're best leaving alone and there's no way to top the existing film.

Given the reports Warner executives were scared to make the film, this is for the best.

Count me as not surprised, this rumour started decades ago and what did we get? Nothing. It's better to think we will never have this movie.

This guy gets it. Minecraft is going to change the way people think of adaptions now. Anything Taika Watiti would have made would not have reached the heights that is Jack Black saying chicken jockey.

They should be scared. They're billions in debt and just anointed Zazz the killer in charge of penny pinching again.

Glad to see they've accepted reality and stopped throwing good money after bad.

Well, I have to say that this property is probably for the best maybe not suited for live-action, WB had their chance and it looks like nothing came out of it. I'm not sure if Akira will ever get a live-action adaptation regardless of what country adapt it.
