Crunchyroll also confirmed on their site they’ll be streaming it.

My prediction for the animation quality: worse than Collection, but better than Uzumaki 2-4.

Another butchered Uzumaki adaptation? I'm not sure if Junji Ito fans are prepared for the disappointment again.

I'm not sure if I'd heard of the Maniac series. Was it at all well received or was it just mediocre?
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what style they go for this time. And if we get the obligatory umpteenth adaptation of Tomie.

Will this be the Ito adaption that bucks the trend? Probably not.

The most terrifying thing on that preview was the fact that something could make the truly monstrous Tomie cry. Shocked I don't remember that in any of her stories.

Can’t wait to see how this gets torn to shred in reviews.

For the sake of the universe, why!!?! Let poor Junji Ito rest. Nobody in the industry seems capable of doing the works the justice they deserve.

Well, I for one am very pleased with the announcement. I couldn't care less about whatever the majority of fans think about the previous adaptations. I've enjoyed all of them just fine and having more animated Ito is always good news in my book...

With that kind of attitude is why companies get away with abysmal adaptations. Why put effort into something when people will still watch and even defend it?

Didn’t know he shuffled off to that big cosmic horror show in the sky when we weren’t looking.

If he liked the show’s that’s fine everyone’s not going to hate something that others hate, just like some aren’t going to like things that others like. Griping and being incredulous isn’t going to change anything.

I'm not sure who keeps funding these projects but you have to admire their dedication despite all the results thus far.

Given 1. How badly we got burned on Uzumaki and 2. The fact that there's already an AI generated music video attached to this, I'd say my expectations are at Rock Bottom

Someone should explain to me why Junji Ito's adaptations are all terrible.

Like, if you're making so many adaptations of his works, clearly it must be popular so why not do it justice?
