My family and I never leave before the end of credits, even without the odd post-credit scene we are interested in the filming locations and licensed song tracklist.

After how rushed the anime’s ending, I was hoping the live action movie would give more insight into the sci-fi lore but it sounds like it’s best to just skip the movie and I should eventually just check out the manga. It’s too bad to hear about Yaomay as she was my favorite character. How did the movie handle the gay romance?

I was also in the audience for this (world premiere!!!) screening - and yeah, the definite sense I got was a highlights reel / most memorable scenes kind of thing. Good just to see how the characters and some of the settings actually look like not on a page or in animation, but if you were expecting anything particularly coherent, you were not going to get it.
