The original 2004 Rozen Maiden anime was one of my favorite series even if it wasn't the most faithful to the manga.

A nice little interview. It's great to see Peach-Pit has been keeping at it after all these years!
With the anniversary omnibus editions of both Rozen Maiden and Shugo Chara getting an English release, plus Jewel Joker being licensed, it's a good time to be an English-speaking Peach-Pit fan.

My favorite manga by them is Zombie Loan, though maybe I just liked it because I was a kid back then and everything was new and better at the time.

I discovered them this year and absolutely love DearS and Rozen Maiden.
Sure, DearS isn't a masterpiece (and reductive compared to CLAMP's Chobits), but it's far from being as terrible as everyone says it is. It's pure camp, but still one of those manga and anime you read/watch when you just want to have fun and not think.
Rozen Maiden may be over twenty years old, but it's been my favourite manga and anime I've seen this year. The artwork is gorgeous (I bought the Japanese artbooks of DearS and Rozen Maiden).

I've only seen DearS out all the PEACH-PIT adaptations out there, and it's definitely a guilty pleasure I'm not that guilty about having. Also helped me get through the second half of Berserk '97 when I was watching that.
Zombie-Loan, meanwhile, has the best theme songs out of 'em. Its OP and the one for The First Slam Dunk are the closest we'll ever get to having a Thee Michelle Gun Elephant anisong. R.I.P. Yusuke Chiba.
