I kinda feel like this should have either been a kinetic novel (no choices) or something more interested in exploring AU scenarios. Making it a direct adaptation with only really cosmetic changes but pretentions of being a choice-driven visual novel kind of limits, really hard, what's possible with it and honestly kinda makes it pointless.
Especially with the three chapter structure? Having two hard bottlenecks in the middle that always work out the same way limits stuff too.
