Huh, only a six year tenure, but to get the facts straight, it was an eventful one between the pandemic (which is basically a multiplier considering the circumstances), to the movie adaptations, to the theme parks, to also being around during some of Nintendo's biggest launches ever. So short but eventful. Hope he enjoys his retirement.
As for Devon, I wish her luck. Gotta give points to a woman whose Linkedin profile portrait is her with a Bulborb plushy.

Surprised ANN didn't preface the article with a 'no relation to the Mario boss' disclaimer.

I don't like that his successor was already named as it didn't give us an opportunity to make stupid jokes like, "who is replacing Boswer, King K. Rool?"

I dunno if that's considered a short run or if Reggie's run was just really long.
Doug was certainly more of a behind-the-scenes businessman compared to more public figures like Reggie and Iwata, so I don't have much to say about him.

The only things I recall about him was the introduction gag in the Direct about his name and him saying if you can't afford a Switch 2 you can always go buy a Switch 1.

Hey, ANN, can we please get some new emoticons?! They've been the same for 20+ years now. Sheesh.

Didn't an Xbox CEO get dropped like 10 years ago for the same exact shit?!

There's a pretty big difference between stating that the old console is still getting support and games, and being bluntly confrontational about it.

Pretty much. Mattrick's comment was way worse and very petulant. Also, he left which had MS scrambling for about a year until Spencer took up the role. Which...man, MS has been in flames since then.

Hopefully (low chance but still hoping) the crapy guys departure changes the recent anti consumer & fandom ways.
he should have never been given the job.

You don't seem to be aware that all those decisions came from his bosses in Japan, and we have little to go on regarding how he influenced them.

I doubt Doug Bowser had any control over those. Reggie was famous for fighting to make Wii Sports a free pack-in game rather than a paid demo like the Switch 2 Welcome Tour was so I guess you could argue Doug Bowser didn't fight hard enough to replicate that for the Switch 2 Welcome Tour but overall I doubt he had any huge impact on a lot of the stuff people criticize Nintendo for.
