Hopefully this is from Game Freaks's A team. Not saying their Pokemon games are bad but they do need more polish these days and from a 1st gen fan, better writing.

If you had shown me this game in a vacuum, I would have never guessed with was being made by Game Freak.
Honestly, as a lapsed Pokemon fan I'm ready for them to do some new at this level. Game Freak needs to show that they're capable of more than Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and I hope this is able to get this some recognition as something other than the Pokemon studio.

Going off this game alone it feels like the problems with Pokemon have nothing to do with Game Freak but whoever is in charge of telling them what to do because this game looks completely fine and a normal, competent AAA game.

Looking fine isn’t the same thing as playing fine. Still need to see what the finished product is like.

I refuse to believe this game will run anywhere close to "awful" compared to Scarlet and Violet. The gameplay not being 12 fps is already a lock in.

No shade, but you either didn't play Scarlet/Violet and Legends Z-A, or you got pretty specific standards for what constitutes better writing.

Game Freak seems to be capable of good design when Nintendo lets them out of the Pokemon shed.

Yes I know It's a children's RPG but still. I guess I've just found better RPGs that I like (Xenoblade). I also thought the first Legends game was better because we were in a different time period and it was more about the catching and collecting part of Pokemon while in Z-A it was more for battling which is not the part of the series I enjoy. No shade for those that enjoy that though. But I did love that Tepig was a starter because that pokemon gets almost no love as far as starters go and enjoyed Canari along with her Grandpa.
