Well, at least we got to hear about how it's not getting a sequel as opposed to hearing nothing at all.

Honestly, I'm so used to anime operating on an "extra seasons are a gift" mindset that it just feels wrong hearing about one being canceled in the "no second season" sense, even if it is an international co-pro.

I think after Dark Fate people were just done giving Terminator anything another chance. Especially when this series essentially rendered the core conflict pointless by saying spoiler[Everything was operating on multiverse/split timeline theory, meaning that all the attempts to change the future were pointless, even the initial attempt by Skynet to kill Sarah Connor]. That was when it wasn't banking on people having never read or seen Colossus: The Forbin Project, which is where half the discussions with the other AI take their notes from.

The whole thing just left me with a really bad taste in my mouth, and I get why the public rejected it, especially after so many failed attempts at recapturing the magic of T2. Look, if they adapt Robocop vs. Terminator faithfully (the Frank Miller one), I would be down for that, but otherwise, just let Terminator rest. There's no need for it to be back.

I didn't even know it was released. As much anime as I watch on Netflix every season they never once put it in front of my on the front page. Hard to expect success when they can't even be bothered to push it on the target audience. Would have watched it, but now that I know it'll be completed, forget it.

Well to be honest, I did expected it. I watched the whole thing (I thought it was OK and interesting) and I didn't see why it would need a 2nd season, so I'm not sad about this announcement.

It's about time that the entire Terminator franchise gets terminated

After the abysmal Terminator Dark Fate and this mediocre anime, we don't need anymore Terminator stuff

There are only 26 ratings from people on this site for it. Tells you all you need to know.

Well, it was nice while it lasted. But at least it ended at a good point; I honestly couldn't imagine it going anywhere else after season 1. With all the revelations revealed by the end, anything else would have just felt tacked on, like a parody of itself sorta. The spoiler[split timeline] thing did give a fresh perspective on the series, even if it does break a lot of the purpose for the original two movies. Still, it was nice to have something in the franchise that wasn't dogshit like in the later sequels. Three notwithstanding. Kinda.

Just add this with the Sarah Connor Chronicles on the list of Lost Potential. Which isn't a diss on SCC in any way. In fact, that was probably the best we got out of Terminator since T2.

It's too bad, especially with how preferable this was to the 'Dark Fate' movie.

That's a shame, they were actually doing some interesting stuff with it, not least of all that they got away from the Connors.

Terminator's a property they desperately just need to leave on ice for a long, long time. The demand just plain isn't there for it and yet they just keep pushing out one flop after another after another.

I remember appreciating that the series tried to do something new compared to the other retreads (excluding 2 and Sarah Connor Chronicles). But honestly the most distinctive thing I remember about the series is not realizing English was the voice of choice so I watched in Japanese with English closed-captioning, which kind of ruined it.

And studios have been chasing that high since 1991. I think we as a society need to accept we’re not going to top T2 as far as Terminator films go.

The viewership data was low on release and this had an IP, a known Hollywood writer and IG attached, so I steeled myself to the fact after a month on the market. Good show with an all right way to close it off, despite the whole story being open-ended. 70 minutes more of story wouldn´t have moved the needle and doing a one-off special unconnected to the plot would have only diluted the waters. The Sarah Conner Chronicles cliff-hanger ending, this is not.

Terminator is done, end of story.
