This news comes just several months after he was declared cancer-free, which makes it even more heartbreaking. RIP, Sam.

Sad. I think most of us had seen the man's acting at least once.

This is a real blow, man. Nevermind that JP is one of my all-time favorite movies and Sam Neill was in a ton of other movies that I loved growing up, he was by all accounts a genuinely good man; gentle, humble, and compassionate.

It's kind of nice to see ANN making this report given that his final role is the upcoming Godzilla vs Kong film. I'm someone who grew up in the 90's (yes, I'm a 90's kids!!!). For me, Jurassic Park has a deep impact on my childhood (alongside my love of dinosaur as a whole). Seeing Sam Neill as Alan Grant left me impressed as a kid, and I still love the movie along with the franchise itself to this day (I'll always see a new Jurassic Park/World film in theater whenever it comes out). He'll definitely be missed by lifelong Jurassic Park fans like me. RIP Sam Neill!!!

I'm glad ANN has mentioned some of the less mainstream and far more interesting films he appeared in like Possession, In the Mouth of Madness and Event Horizon. Particularly enjoyed Death in Brunswick where he stared alongside easily the greatest comedian/satirist to come out of New Zealand, John Clarke.

Was also a vocal supporter of environmental and indigenous rights in New Zealand and Australia, even designing an Australian flag for Event Horizon that replaced the Union Jack with the aboriginal flag as he believed that's what an Australian flag of the future would look like. Class act from what I've heard. Also ran a few vineyards in New Zealand.
Dude could go from playing the awestruck, rugged Dr. Alan Grant, a scientist who inspired generations to study paleontology, then the very next year plays the somewhat sleazy John Trent in In the Mouth of Madness. Do yourselves a favor and check out his movies, no better way to honor him

I'm afraid that, even if one survives cancer, your health and your body are never the same again.
