Many years ago I watched an amazing anime movie. I can’t remember the title . I have searched literally hundreds of anime synopsis. I only have a faint memory of the story line but it went something like this: There where alien or tree beings on earth that when in proximity to humans transformed us into trees. There was a romance between a dare devil boy and a girl, who was attracted to the beings and would help them try to destroy the earth. There was a scene that had the boy out maneuvering a tank with a scooter on a high way guard rail. Another scene had a military squad in a dark forest being turned into trees by a bazaar light. The boy saved the girl from a seed pod like device in the end. Also the story took place in a desert and city with excellent animation. Please help me remember the name. The movie air before the year 2000. Please any info would help, thank you.
