i thought it was to be 5 episodes, but it looks like 5 shorts. is this a pilot? or is it just a stupid hype show? 'cause it looked good, and i don't think they can cover a whole season in just 25 min. any thoughts on this? and do you know what studio did it?

IGPX is a series of shorts (roughly 5 minutes each) commisioned from Studio IG by Cartoon Network as a Toonami total immersion event.

I agree. I would like to see this fleshed out into it's own series just from what I saw on the first short. It kind of reminds me of Zoids Zero. The whole low ranked team taking the big dogs.

Well, it's not as though CN was missleading anyone. They did call it a "micro series" rather than a mini series and also said it would be coming on before Dragonball. If it was a half hour series then it would have expanded Toonami half an hour, the scedule made no indication of that. For what we get I don't think it will be all that bad, basicly a 25minute special split up into 5 parts. I hope they plan to do more anime based "micro series" in the future, their next one will be their Star Wars special which of course isn't anime.

From what I read, if it's popular enough, it might be.

where did you hear this? the show did feel way too much like Zoids: Zero, but the mecha designs weren't very cool. it's like G-Gundam, but with better animation and not as much flavor. too much like zoids, imo. it would be cool if they made it into a series that *hopefully* would have it's own, original plot.

Anime Insider...I think. I didn't fully read the article but I'm almost positive it mentioned that it might be possible to create a series if it was popular enough.

i was surprised w/ the 2nd ep. they made much more references to getting killed than I thought they would. and the fact that they were talking about 14-15 year old kids *possibly* getting killed, one of them was a little kid asking if she would die yet they had to cut scenes where Yahiko is danger for his life in RK? doesn't make sense to me.
on a side note, that blond haired w/ the sweatshirt around her waist is most definitely NOT 15, as it says in her profile on toonami.com . she looks at least 17, but more like 18 or older. *sigh* i wish toonami would get more new shows. micro-series suck, the events progressed far too fast to understand. if it's just one fight, they could cover it in the next 3 ep. but i seriusly doubt it will have any important plot points.

You don't have to read anything to know that. If it's insanely popular and has the potential to make lots and lots of $$$ then our capitalistic mindset would make more. Because to us, more money=better. Right, or am I thinking way to deep of what is already obvious.

Yeah, that's true. I realized that after posting. It's sort of an obvious statement to make, but it was made by Studio IG. I guess the real question is how popular is "popular enough".

I missed a few episodes already since I thought it'll start next week. >.< So they only show it for 5 minutes each episode?
