The Deep Love series is a very popular manga in Japan with a movie and a TV drama (which is way to graphic even if it was shown on TV) I read Ayu's story and I was extremely moved and I wanted to cry like a little girl after reading it. I know a lot of people say stuff like that but really, do not read the manga unless you can handle extremely strong depression lol. It didn't help that all of the main character's friends pretty much suffer in other manga versions of Deep Love and oh the little puppy brings tears to my eyes in the end.
I was reading in a blog that the Deep Love stories were based on the author (Yoshi's) best friend's life and other real life events. I was wondering whether anyone had any proof on this because it feels way too intense to have actually happened, but teenage prostitution and lonely deaths do happen.
