Sweet! I can't wait to see a sequel. The first 13 eps were great. I can't wait to see more of the girls.

I'm down as long as the first two episodes aren't the same. Or flash back to the same event over and over. Hopefully this new series will show some real P90 action, I am all about that Submachine gun, I think its because I dig caseless ammo.

You can put caseless ammo in almost any assault rifle or pistol.

Yay! This is the first time I've been excited about a sequel / continuation in quite a while.

Just out of curiosity how close did the gunslinger girl anime follow the manga? If it did follow the manga relatively closely what Volume and chapter of the manga did the first series end on?

This is great news. I only gave the series a Very Good, but I saw a lot of potential for an Excellent or even Masterpiece rating had it been longer. Superb presentation on Madhouse's part and a very mellow score by Toshihiko Sahashi. The relationships between the girls and their Brothers was a subtle, though very endearing quality to the characters. And the whole spoiler[ conspiracy and intrigue behind Elsa] gave a cool story to boot. I'm eager to see how things will progress from last series Anime catgrin.

The 5.7×28 round is not caseless...

Great news for us fans. Hopefully they'll flesh out Jean and Jose's past.

Did Nana finish up yet?

...

Because this would mean that Morio Asaka is freed up now... could be a reason why this is making a comeback; anyway, I approve.

If I remember correctly, the first series covers the first three volumes but not in strict chapter order.

Superfliz beat me to the ammo comment, but to add my 2 cents, only caseless A/R was the cancelled G11 (they could not fix the cook off problem and had reliability issues in battle conditions), but some M/Ps are still experimenting with the idea. Its just a matter of technology catching up to an idea whose time has come.

The anime covered the Manga volumes 1 and 2. It followed it VERY closely.

Also, the anime added an "Elsa arc"; the manga never showed Elsa alive except for a brief flashback.

Sounds good. I saw Gunslinger Girl on IFC a few months ago. I was impressed. It was much better than I had expected. I wonder how much of the rest of the manga the new series will cover.

More GG? Wow, this is the best news I've heard all day. I very much enjoyed the original series, now I'm glad that my wanting more will be satisfied. Madhouse had better be doing the animation again.

AWESOME! I loved this series! I hope they still do as good a job as they did with the first 13 episodes!

Kinda wondering where this decision popped up from, actually...

Do you guys think it was because of the success from the US or something?

Because I remember vaguely hearing that this show never really made it onto DVD in Japan (or maybe I misunderstood something).

this is excellent! I thought that GG could have been longer, wished it was longer, and now there will be more. And the manga is also starting a comeback, and its about damn time Wink I hopr they put in that whole Pinnochio arc, as he was a pretty cool character in the manga. There are also more sec. 1 girls in the manga that I hope to see blast people full of holes Twisted Evil
