And it was great. I've been a fan of comic books for a while but it was my first ever convention. I'm not into cosplay or anything so I was looking forward to seeing all the Trekkies and all the cosplayers. The first thing I noticed was that the anime cosplayers outnumbered the superhero/star trek/video game cosplayers by a LOT. I must have seen at least 200 Narutos today and a bunch of Ichigo's and Orochimarou's. I gotta give the cosplayers credit though, I could never dress up and walk down the streets of Toronto carrying a massive homemade sword and a black suit with long white hair (someone dressed up as Sephiroth from FF7)

I also noticed that there were a lot more anime focused booths then I would have thought, and thousands of anime and manga on sale. I guess this is due to that anime is becoming more mainstream in North America. I also got to see the guy who does the voice for the dubbed Naruto. When I got home I realized that a lot of series' I know had their creators there, like the Trigun guy was there. I was kinda disappointed I didn't get to meet them.

Well that's my story about my trip to my first ever FanExpo. It doesn't really have a point but you could leave your opinions about conventions and your stories about conventions that you've been to.

P.S. I saw a group of people and they were all dressed up as the characters from Cowboy Bebop. The girl who was dressed up as Faye Valentine must have been 400 pounds easy. Why do large people insist on cramming themselves into the smallest and skimpiest costumes?

The print ad for this particular expo is so weird; they run a big image of superheroes, but the largest text proclaims the main guests of honour are horror directors Dario Argento and George A. Romero. So what kind of fan expo is it?

I'd rather go to an event with a more specific focus, but maybe that's just me ....

Isn't Naruto's Voice Actor a woman in both versions?
