I was wondering where to buy the FMA Tin Art Boxes. Well Basically the Tin Box 1. I was on TRSI and seen they have Vol 6 with Tin Box & Vol 10 with Tin Box. But no Vol 1 with Tin Box. These two are super cheap right now on TRSI and I'm going to buy them.
The whole 13 individual dvd's were bought for me for my birthday so I didn't have a choice in the matter but I absolutely love art boxes and want these three. I know that they are releasing new cardboard box sets now but already owning the dvd's I'd rather buy 3 extra dvd's then the whole series, plus I think the tin is a lot cooler. So I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on where to find the 1st Tin Box. I found it at Bargain Anime [Link] but having not used this site before I'm pretty hesitant dropping 35$ on a site I don't know (I'm sure you all understand this). Also no review was written in this thread eather. I have checked RACS, TRSI, DVD Pacific, Amazon, and Bargain Anime. If any of you know another site where I could buy this or vouch for Bargain Anime that would be great. Thank you in advance Brandon |

That Amazon one is funny (wasn't there when I checked). I know I wouldn't pay 600+ USD for 1 tin box.
Thanks of giving it a look Kuchu |

The seller actually sells the complete series, 13 + 1 movie along with the tin art boxes Comment below is what the actual seller writes on his Amazon item description: "COMPLETE 13 DVD SET + ALL 3 COLLECTORS TINS! Your are purchasing the complete 13 disk R1 Fullmetal Alchemist DVD set released by Funimation + ALL 3 Limited Collectors Tins (Black, White, and Red). Set includes the original Black tin which is nearly impossible to find. All items in like new condition. Black tin also includes the collectors card set. Set DOES NOT include any of the soundtrack CD's as the tins are instead filled with the DVD's. The ultimate FMA collectors set. Fast next business day shipping for U.S. customers! International orders welcome. 100% guaranteed against defects. Actual U.S. Licensed release (Region 1) - we DO NOT sell any bootlegs or illegal imports at the Anime Corner. We've been serving Anime fans for over 10 years from our Headquarters and online fulfillment center in Winchester VA. Check out our inventory of more than 16,000 Japanese Anime related DVD's, Manga, Soundtracks, Toys, and much more!" It says Anime Corner and I wonder if it's RACS. |

Holy crap Kuchu you are right it is from RACS.
Quote from Amazon "we DO NOT sell any bootlegs or illegal imports at the Anime Corner. We've been serving Anime fans for over 10 years from our Headquarters and online fulfillment center in Winchester VA" That is where the RACS warehouse is. Odd to see this for such a crazy price from the site I always use that has awesome prices. Guess even reliable people try to make some better coin. |

A bit of OOT but I have to say I was quite disappointed after finding out that TRSI sells some new box set DVDs on Amazon at a ridiculously cheaper price than on their own website. I found some that are even marked down more than 50%. I felt kinda cheated to tell you the truth. I thought they would make their own website the default for the best bargain to find but apparently not.

If you look up TRSI's stuff tho', there's a few DVDs they don't sell at their website at all- this NCAA DVD, for example.
I've always figured it was kinda like their 'secret as-is' department. Y'know, for things that they can't sell via the main site for whatever reason- which, in turn, is why it's often cheaper than the main TRSI site. (Although usually not the cheapest option on Amazon.) |

If the reason is because they aren't allowed to or can't sell it on their website, that wouldn't put me down so much but I don't think that's the only reason. Some of the items I bought from their site in the past was 43% off (40% big sale plus 10% membership) and they had it on amazon for more than 50%. That kinda pissed me off. I was considering buying Master Keaton for a special price of 8.99 ea on their site and then I found out they had it varied between 2-5 ea bucks on Amazon. Argh!! |

I can understand for things they can't sellon their site- but they have Gad Guard disc 1 for $3 or so. I'm going to order from this site- and I can use a Borders Gift card! |

That first tin was essentially sold out everywhere 2 years ago...$37 at Bargain Anime would be an excellent deal for it...except, there's no "Order" button for its entry on Bargain Anime, like there is for the rest of the DVDs. Btw, your post suffered some Grammar-Nazi-Mod-Edits -- the plural of box = boxes, not box's.

WOW I don't know how I missed that there is no "order" button beside that #1 box on BA. I blame lack of sleep and working 12 hour days. Now I don't know if I want to buy the other 2 from TRSI since I won't have the whole set and it will offset the collection. Plus I will know I'm missing it and the remaining loose dvd's will stare at me from the shelf laughing at my failure.
You talking about my original post or someone else's? I don't see what you mean but then it's 5:30am, I'm at work, nice and tired. |

Keep in mind the Amazon Marketplace shipping policy.
In other words you pay $3 shipping for each DVD, no matter how many you buy. So if you ordered all eight Master Keaton DVDs it would incur a $24 shipping charge! So ordering them off of TRSI would cost you $71.92 (free shipping), and from Marketplace it will come to $64.58 (including shipping). So the difference is not as great as you think($7.34). Although it is cheaper in this case, I would be careful about automatically assuming that everything from shawnek's shopfront will be cheaper due to there shipping policy, and remember anything over $49 from TRSI is free shipping and that includes bargin items and sales. I myself have never paid shipping from TRSI (which is $3+$1). Also, the 40% off TRSI studio sales comes to 46% off not 43% with your 10% off Got Anime membership. By the way what box sets were to talking about? Oh and violented, I checked around some of the sites that usually carry OOP stuff, and I couldn't find the FMA Tin 1. Although I wouldn't give up, I would say your best bet would be to try and find it used. Just beware if you take that route and make sure you are getting a legit product. |

Okay, I was wrong on the total percentage but compared to 50% even 46% is still less discount which in this case I would take the 50% than 46% anytime anyday. 7 dollars is 7 dollars keep in mind a lot of merchandise in their bargain site are lower than 7 dollars. I could treat myself to something extra and new than spending it more on the same items that I could get for less price. Peacemaker down to 50% in which I paid about 3.50 more. I bought ZOE on Anime Nation which I'm still having a hard time dealing with them and would gladly bought it from TSRI if they put the price on their site the same as their amazon, 54% discount not to mention I could save myself another 7 bucks. Sure there are probably people who will say what's 7 or 3 bucks gonna do for you, but for a person in budget and wanting to spend smart it all counts when you start adding them all up. BTW, my voice of disappointment is literally just a voice of disappointment. It is not in any way a protest or a boycott to their site and service, so loyal TRSI customers out there can save their breath before start suing me for assuming that I am attacking them and destroying their reputation. I know they're good and I'm not gonna stop using their service. I just wish they're more consistent. I wouldn't automatically assuming that everything from shawnek's storefront will be cheaper but I will start assuming that their website price is not the best I can get from them. Let's just say this is a reminder if not a warning for myself if not for others who are in a tight budget to realize that TRSI doesn't only sell through their website(there's Shawnek Amazon storefront) and that their site price is not always the cheapest compared to their Amazon store. violented16: sorry for the OOT discussion. |

I imagine it's nothing more than him not updating prices as often as he does for the main site. Where as the main site goes in sales cycles. Also the main site has a vastly greater selection.(I realize you don't care about any of that, I was just pointing it out)
For instance:
I bought ZOE(thinpack that includes OVA) from TRSI for $19.99 (60% off) And I didn't even have to use a coupon. You just have to pick the times to buy, and you can't expect everything to be the best price all the time. And if you do find it cheaper consider yourself lucky, because there is no telling when it will go on sale on the main site. Anyway of course it is good to check between the two, I wasn't saying you shouldn't. I was just trying to help you out by pointing out the massive difference you found between the two(that apparently upset you quite a bit) was not all that massive. You shouldn't take it so personal. |
