Who thinks that BanDai should really make "The World" an online game? (Computer or another console).
I, personally, would enjoy it. But, what if a lot of people play and it gets crowded? |

That would be pretty cool. I think it would work best if it were a computer game. There would probably be a larger maket for it there. |

for all we know they might be making it right now, yet waiting until the coinciding release date of the game in the .Hack timeline (11:59 PM December 24, 2007)

Oh man, if they did that, I'd be in heaven.
When I first started playing Rag. Online, I was going "THIS IS SO COOL, IT'S ALMOST LIKE THE WORLD!" >.> I embarass myself sometimes. Now I have FFXI, but if they released The World as an mmorpg, I'd sign up.
Isn't the new playstation supposed to have some kind of controller that you use your eyes for? |

Just play Final Fantasy XI, it's probably the closest thing you'll get to The World, I know I'm enjoying it.

If they do bring .hack online, one: it should be cheaper than FF11; and two: you can play with those VR helmets they use in the series. Now that would be cool!!!

Hmm, I remember last I checked VR had some really ugly graphics, but now, in a few years, I wonder if it can actually be something like FF quality. I love technology. We may see that kind of stuff with the next generation of systems hopefully.
Geeze, sometimes I can't believe I'm a girl.

VR has traditionally had some pretty ugly graphics but it is getting slowly and slowly better.

You're thinking of VR from the 90's which was pretty basic graphic wise. Todays VR can look better than anything you've seen in a video game since develpers aren't restricted to the abilities of a gaming console. However it's still far too costly to be used for entertainment.

The world would be a good game but it would probably be beaten by games like ffXI and especially ones that are coming out soon like World of warcraft, Everquest 2 and Middle Earth Online.

I'm currently playing Seal Online... Originally Korean, translated into Japanese. No idea if an English version's coming, but I like the ability to freely rotate the camera, rather than using the (more-or-less fixed) 3/4ths perspective that RO provided.
I suppose VR would be ok in this case, but I'd still prefer having control over the camera and looking over the charater's shoulder, rather than seeing 1st person all the time. |

I'd love to play an MMORPG in Virtual Reality but only if it was done really well, otherwise it'd just hurt your eyes, and be no more fun than playing with a monitor.
OT: I love Cookie's new avatar, it was worth waiting untill 2004 to see it. |

Oh.
That looks spiffy. I would the envy of...well nobody...with one of those but it would be cool too see what it's like. I could just imagine myself playing Gran Turismo 5 with one of those. I already sway back and forth in my chair when driving. |
