Have you seen the new cover for Demon Ororon #1
I am wondering why Tokyopop is changing it. Personally I like the original
What do you think? |

Yeah, TP does that to a lot of its series. Re-releasing them with the red stripe down the side. I don't know why they do, they just do. Good thing I'm not anal about my volumes matching within a series. Just wondering, where did you find that pic?

The cloud background looks better than the yellow background.

Except it looks like they're posing on a chair, in the middle of a deserted road, under a puffy-clouded sky. |

I actually think the yellow background goes better. The lack of detail on the chair doesn't fit well with the detailed background of the sky, and the yellow helps the subjects stand out better. |

The yellow background makes the book too ordinary. Just like all those "For Dummies" book. I don't think it would catch my attention as much as the cloud cover one which feature a nice bright setting. Whether it fit yellow background fit the story more, I have yet to know since I havn't read it.

In any case, I don't particularly like the new cover. And they changed the font/lettering as well, which doesn't make much sense. If you read it, you can actually see why they would use that form and style. On an un-related note; I bashed the artwork before, and although I stand by my opinion, I can see why the artwork would have such a style. The story has an engrossing gothic-like feel to it and the art matches it perfectly. It's a good read. |

Well the artwork does have style and the yellow background bring an abstract feel to it. I don't know, maybe it's just me but anything with a nice peaceful setting always catch my attention. Yea the new font looks crappier than the old font.

Hey everyone. I did some digging and found out that this isn't the new cover. As you know in printing books you get more than one cover Art submission and before it is finalized sometimes they use a temporary cover for the media. Well that is what this is. They were going to use the red bar cover but changed thier minds before it went to press.
Sorry for the confusion. I found the image at http://www.justmanga.com I was searching for #4 to preorder and found it there. Big as day. I should have researched it before posting here though. Gomenasai. I am happy they changed their minds though. I really do love the art in Ororon. Very stylish and distinctive. I hope Tokyopop or someone out there gets the rest of Mizuki Hakase work. I hear her shounen-ai is quite good. |
