Does anybody know if there is going to be another convention here? I'm pretty sure there was a Comicon around here about 2 months ago, but I haven't heard about any anime/manga conventions.

Anizona (an anime convention) was supposed to take place at the end of March but it was canceled, I think they are looking at 09 for the next one. I have not heard of anything else.

Oh yes, I've heard about that before. Have you been there? Is it fun and do a lot of people attend? I love cons where there are a lot of people, so many that I get lost in the crowd lol.

Saboten-Con
In the wake of AniZona's cancellation, this is a new con that is shaping up. They did have Travis Willingham booked, but he had to cancel unfortunately. Greg Ayres is coming instead, but I just saw him at the Phoenix Cactus Comicon (site down at the moment) that was in January. I'd love to see Laura Bailey (the other major Saboten-Con guest), but I'm not sure if I want to travel up from Tucson just for her. I've attended the PCC the last couple of years. While not a true anime con, it's still a great pop culture con nevertheless. The anime fans have been slowly taking over the past couple of years anyway. As a matter of fact, the S-C is actually being run by folks from the PCC. As for AniZona, I've never attended. I would have gone this year had it not been canceled. |
