I prefer it subbed, but not because the dialogue is totally different from what the dub script is (though I still think it's better even in that sense), but because their voices in Japanese fit those characters perfectly.

I could get specific, but you haven't even seen the series yet, so I'll wait until you get a little further in. Wink

Ya the sub is a lot better. The dub feels watered down to me. The script isn't as powerful and the voices just don't seem to work. Especially with the first Kenshin OVA series. The dub ADV had done for that was just atrocious

Well, since I can't stand the dub and am really impatient on ranting about it, here are some quoted posts I made in an earlier thread. I'll make each of them seperate posts since they are quite lengthy. I apologize for the ranting (*bows*).

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured how to link the individual posts now without excessively requoting myself.

Please read this, this, and this instead. Smile

if you think about, compare dbz subbed and dubbed. When they power up, it sounds like their taking a dump when dubbed but the subb, the japanese voice seem to make it sound alot more realistic other having gouku sound like he in the bathroom

I actually watched the dub version first and then the sub version. I really liked the sub version much better coz' you could feel the emotion Smile . But I don't think the dub version is that bad........Tetsaiga I think you better of watching the sub version Smile .

I must say that I agree the subbed version is the best but the dubbed version is still good.

I haven't seen the subbed yet (I'm thinking of getting the second box set when I get the money) but I can say that the dub isn't that bad. Except for a couple of small things, the voices fit the character for the most part.

Hehe, I haven't been on these boards in a while, but I'll give my little opinion.

I both versions of DBZ have their ups and downs. In the dub, some of the people sounded a lot more "manly". The down side is the music edits.

For Kenshin, I'd just do what you already suggested, watch both. Subbed or dubbed, their both good. I'm not a strong critic.
