From the looks of the for the second series, it looks like it's an older and more dark jing. Is the second series suppose to be more "mature" than the first one or is it basically a continuation.

It's drawn with a darker, edgier style. Jing is a couple years older than in the first series, I think, too. It's either a continuation...or a spinoff from the first series that focusing more on Kir and Jing, but I'm pretty sure it's not a re-telling of the first series.
