Wow Laughing , I just watched this movie for the first time, last night.
It was great. Loved the humour and the animation, especially the facial expressions, was pretty good. No major complaints from me except that while it is a Christmas movie, I wouldn't say it's a family movie, i.e., children can watch it unsupervised. To many uses of the word f*g*t for this to be PG.

I've had this on my plan to watch list the past couple years, and I've made it a point to have my first viewing during the Christmas season. Maybe I'll actually remember to watch it this year. Laughing

I plan to watch this this Christmas with my parents who introduced me into Miyazaki as a kid when it was still on VHS. We just watched the Star Wars Visions stuff lately so I think they will like to see some more grown up anime.

If you do check this one out, I recommend trying to get the new GKIDS English dub used for its rerelease in theaters early in 2020. It uses an actual transgender actress in the role of Hana, and I definitely thought that made a difference.

Good video/article. Tokyo Godfather's has been an annual watch for me every December for years now. It is, and has been, my quintessential holiday anime for a long time now. It's also just a really well done and heartwarming movie in it's own right. When the BR version came out this was an immediate double dip upgrade from DVD to BR for me.

this is an annual classic. I most recently watched it via crackle but plan to celebrate by buying it this year! Cool

There's an error in the title of the article. It's "Tokyo Godfathers" plural.

I love this movie and try to watch it every year. I do hope it gets more of the attention it deserves.

Haven't seen the movie since Animax Asia aired it with their own dub.

Will be getting the U.S. Blu-ray.
