This is the most out of left field crossover…ever?
It would be nice if Silent Mobius could get rescue licensed. |

Well, that is something.
How about, as suggested already, a license rescue? Or how about more Silent Möbius manga? The manga, the two anime movies, and the anime series alike need more fans. And whilst this is outside Asamiya-san's powers, how about an anime adaptation of Silent Möbius QD? Or even a complete adaptation of the original manga series? OK. Got it, got it. This is reaching delulu territory. But Silent Möbius was one of my first anime loves. Who knows, maybe this crossover will ignite interest. |

…What?
Is this a prequel to a relaunch of Silent Mobius? Or are they just going to be part of the Marvel Universe? |

And it looks like the chances of Silent Mobius getting license rescue has just increased after this announcement. I hope Discotek can pick up both the film and the anime TV series in the near future. EDIT: One more thing I want to address: simulpub release in both Japan and the US. When it comes to manga, we always get simulpub release in the US. But when it's American comic book based on Japanese IP whether it's IDW's Godzilla comic, IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog, Marvel Comic's Ultraman comic or any American comic book based on Japanese IPs. They always end up not getting a simulpub release in Japan. I mean there are Japanese readers/comic readers in Japan that are already aware of manga being simulpub in the US at the same time it's coming out in Japan, and also becoming aware of US comic based on Japanese IPs, and they're probably asking "how come American get manga released in the US the same time it comes out in Japan, while we Japanese readers that want to read the Silent Mobius X Marvel's Avenger have to wait months or a year later for this title to get a Japanese release". They're probably asking the same questions like myself and others are asking when it comes to that. So when are we going to see American comic book based on Japanese IPs getting simulpub in Japan in the same manner manga get simulpub get released in the US. |

I haven’t thought about Silent Möbius in 30 years (and I guess I thought the antagonists were spiritual beings instead of being merely extra-dimensional). But Dr. Strange x Silent Möbius is not that weird, and Marvel basically just uses cosmic/alien beings in the same way Silent Möbius uses extra-dimensional incursions.

Udon license rescued Silent Mobius back in 2010 but canceled the series after 3 or 4 volumes due to low sales. I'd like to see it rescued as well but that doesn't bode well. Asamiya is also not quite the name draw he was with American fans back in the 90s and early 2000s. |

He's still active in both manga and US comics, if you've looked at his resume on Wikipedia, he's still active in the US comic book scene. So he's not unknown amongst newer anime fans assuming they know who he is and also western/American comic book fans. So there are still chances that Silent Mobius both manga and anime could still get license rescued for the US market. Maybe this crossover plus the Gen Z's retro nostalgia wave (which could include those that are anime fan that could crossover to older anime/manga titles) that is still on-going. It could lead to Silent Mobius finding newer audiences amongst younger fans. About why Silent Mobius didn't do well during Udon's license run... Well, it's back in early 2010's, and manga wasn't mainstream at the level we do have now. But this time, it could be different because both anime and manga are more mainstream-level tier prestige. So maybe Silent Mobius could find a 2nd life and 2nd chance in this current market. |

I've seen titles use an x in some ways, but why would you read an x as a +...........?? That might be more baffling than this crossover itself.

I'm surprised anyone even remember what Silent Mobius is nowdays. Still I'm happy it's getting something.

I just read up the follow up article, and this shocked me:
What!!! Why??? I mean we've been getting manga simulpub, and we saw IDW's Sonic The Hedgehog comic doing so well in Japan to the point where they have to reprint vol.1 because of that, and 2 of the IDW's exclusive characters from the comic have appeared on SEGA Japan's fire safety promo (which is something you don't see in Japan unless those 2 characters became mainstream one way or another. The 2 characters haven't appeared in any official video game, or other Japanese tie-in media). I don't see why this particular comic is not given a simulpub Japanese release when we manga readers in the US are given simulpub of manga at the same time it comes out in Japan. I mean isn't Silent Mobius that well-known in Japan? If it's that well-known or have a big following in Japan, then that crossover comic should've been given a simulpub release or a possible release date in Japan. I just don't understand that and I say that as someone that have seen manga getting simulpub releases in the US at the same time period as Japan. |

Marvel is launching the series in 2026? Are they making its own universe or is it going to be connected to the greater Marvel Universe?

I doubt it. The last animated TV series was from 1998. QD ended seven years ago if I'm not mistaken. He hasn't done "popular stuff" in ages. Recently I saw an illustration he did for the packaging of a new PVC model of Sonic Soldier Borgman's Anice Farm, which was released this year, and I thought "Wait, he's still active?". In all honesty, what I'd like to see would be a new version of what I think was Asamiya's true masterpiece, Compiler, instead (I don't think it was ever released in US? But I may be wrong). |

Ah, Tokyo Comic Con's panel hosts pronounced it as "plus," but Kia Asamiya's studio confirmed it is "cross." |
