Definitely a shocker, especially since Titan's release of Volume 1 just came out this past May/June. I would have to imagine Titan was informed of Kezuka's passing just prior to the book's release, too, but were likely told not to reveal it publicly yet.
The idea of the manga definitely caught my interest, and now I feel even more like I should get the books as they come out. I wouldn't be surprised if Titan includes an "In Memoriam" page for Kezuka in Volume 2 when it comes out this September. RIP |

I haven't read any of their works, but I remember Record Journey being in the news recently here(and looked interesting): animenewsnetwork.com/news/2025-05-28/exclusive-titan-manga-licenses-ryoichiro-kezuka-record-journey-manga/.224785 It sucks knowing in retrospect that the author had probably already passed at the time of that article.

What a loss....I picked up the first volume of Onban Kikou in japanese out of curiosity. I liked the premise revolving around recorded music, the detailed art style and the short stories. I'm glad the manga got a french and english release afterwards. Hearing of the artist's deceasing is truly sad. Rest in peace.
