Why is the Infinite Justice on the cover? It doesn't get introduced until episode forty, If I remember correctly.

More fan-pandering, no doubt.

I liked the comment on the hypocrisy inherent in Gundam SEED and its sequel. Very astute; I hadn't thought of it that way. Well, maybe not so astute. More like, you were just seeing what we Mecha fans try so hard not to; the ugly truth.

I disagree about the what the theme is, at least in regards to Seed (Destiny IS flat out "hypocritical" because its staff were in conflict on whose side was in the right, thus the confusion ensues during the story). In Seed, the two sides were fighting over nonsensical reasons. It wasn't saying "there can never be a legitimate reason to fight in a war" (let's face it, if someone invades you, you don't just roll over and take it), it was saying "don't fight if you don't have to". And so spoiler[Kira, Lacas, and company teamed up to stop both sides before they ultimately wiped each other out]. And considering Kira does try to save as many as he can, even his "enemies", I fail to see where the hypocrisy is (in regards to Seed, not Destiny).

For the same reason Destiny was on the cover of movie 1? They're direct copies of the Region 2 covers, which put all the main characters and their signature mobile suits on there regardless of story timing.

I'd also point out one thing that the review gets wrong, implying that a flaw of the series was the new cast reducing the screen time of the older characters - this is the direct opposite of what was wrong with Destiny. The show was tight and focused until the original series cast made an unwelcome return and completely smothered the new characters into near irrelevance (and eventually dumped them into being what amounted to puppet antagonists despite the fact they never did anything wrong!) and shattered any kind of balance and direction the show originally had.

I agree with ya Destiny was tight Smile and then Kira survives the battle between Impulse and freedom that's when I was like WTF?Rolling Eyes .

On another note, 1 thing I did like about the movie 2 review was no flashback episode part (seriously Destiny had just too many of those in series in my own opinion).

I hated Shinn with a passion almost from the first moment he showed up, and my reaction to him only got worse as the series went on, so I can't agree at all that his role getting downplayed some is a negative. I was never a big fan of the whole Kira-Athrun dynamics, either, though; it was mostly the secondary characters that actually kept me watching.

just finished watching...
agree with all reviewers (Paul, Carl and Theron) about Destiny's protagonist, Shinn: the obnoxious, detestable little cretin... lame, lazy scenarists made him a tool to exploit the famed franchise for the sake of drama that turned to the farce closer to the end of Destiny... the character is so morally ugly that no amount of the painted Shinn's tears made him believably humane and affected me in any way... major failure of this series...
i can not quite remember any other of protagonists which i hated that much... maybe only main heroine from vampire hunter (eternity), which was an incredible imbecile...

While we appreciate the feedback, a 3 year gap in this thread may put it beyond its expiration date.
