Nice! The actually good season of this series is getting dubbed after all. Can't wait to buy it when it's released over here (UK). Really enjoyed this season when it first aired. Very Happy

Very good cast. Spike Spencer, Cristina Vee, and Casandra Lee haven't been in anything big recently. I still need to get around to watching season 1... Only seen the first episode off Amazon.

He'll barely be in it though, Most of the season has Night-Rikuo in it.

Interesting Bang/Zoom cast. Sadly some of my favorite Bang/Zoomers aren't in it, but many of 'em are so it'll be interesting. Since Spike Spencer is out on the convention circuit again it's nice for him to keep racking up new shows to discuss, even if he won't jump back in with Sentai Crying or Very sad

I'm somewhat shocked that Cherami isn't in this, since she's doing the CA "scene" now. I'm also not sure what to expect from the Lee/Vee duo as they seem to me to be cast as characters that do not appeal to me. Luckily I see at least one actress on there who is generally associated with more "mature"-sounding female characters, which is an aural plus IMO.

I want to know who directs this opus, which doesn't seem to have been released. Tony Oliver is not listed as a director, just a cast member, thus far but I'm still a tad leery as I've yet to find a dub of his that I felt was awesome and not merely "meh" at best. I should clarify:I've enjoyed some of his performances as a cast member.

I'm hoping that they can book Kristi Reed, the director of Persona 4's dub on this as, IMO, it is the best Bang/Zoom in recent history.

Because he's a God-awful actor.

Because his line readings always sound forced and unnatural.

Because he puts way too much emphasis on certain syllables.

Because his voice is whiny, high-pitched, and annoying.

Because he honestly sounds like he's modeling his voice after the old Speed Racer dubs from the 60's.

Because every time he does one of his "Yay!!" sounds, it make me want to strangle children.

Because if I wanted to listen to a whiny, effeminate robot, I'd go watch the C-3PO scenes from Star Wars.

Because despite all these flaws, not only does he STILL manage to get work, but he also somehow lands mostly lead roles.

He is, in my humble opinion, THE single WORST anime voice actor still currently working. Every single dub that he's cast in instantly loses about 800% of it's enjoyment, and the fact that not only do directors keep casting him, but that some people even think he's remotely talented, seriously makes me question whether such people actually have any sense of taste at all.

Does THAT answer your question? Evil or Very Mad

I can "deal" with him okay. Even though I hate his acting, he alone doesn't stop me from watching a dub of a show to it's completion. Hell, if I can make it through the entirety of the Overman King Gainer dub (which was a complete and utter lamentable MESS), I can pretty much make it through anything.

And it's not like I have a problem with him as a person, either. He's a nice guy. I've met him. Shook his hand. Got a picture, even. Still, I cannot for the life of me understand why or how ANYONE on this earth could find his brand of "acting" good. Even taking differences of opinion into consideration, the fact that he keeps getting put in major roles, AND the fact that other, truly talented voice actors like Spike Spencer can call him "uber talented" (seriously Spike, WTF?!), leaves me thoroughly scratching my head. Confused

Perhaps the problem is with his direction. As Chris Ayres has said: "Blame the director, not the actors", something that I've long repeated after being continually unimpressed with Chris Ayres directed dubs.

To me, almost every actor in nigh every Bang/Zoom dub comes off as how you describe Guilbeau (with some Kristi Reed-directed exceptions), yet some of them have made excellent dubs (IMO) at other studios.

Unfortunately I don't have such an example to point to for Guilbeau. I do share many of your complaints with him, though again I also find those faults with other B/Z performances. Considering the logic of the Chris Ayres quote, the testimony from other actors, and also having met the man on several occasions I am, though I lack direct evidence to the contrary, reluctant to dismiss him as simply being a bad actor.
