Michael Bay Returns to Direct Transformers 5 Film

Director Michael Bay confirmed in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine posted on Monday that he will return to direct Transformers 5, the latest film in the live-action Transformers film franchise. He was previously only credited as a producer for the film.

In the interview, Bay states that Transformers 5 will be the last Transformers film he helms. The film is slated for 2017.

Transformers: Age of Extinction, the fourth film in the franchise, opened in 2014. Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldier's of Benghazi film will open on January 15. He is also producing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows film, which is opening on June 3.
