Despite the Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger storylines playing a large role in many "Super Robot Wars" games, "Super Robot Wars GC" is the first of the series which uses the MazinKaiser OVA versions of the robots, characters and storyline instead.

The User Manual for the "Diana Ace" is a spoof of the User Manual for "Operation V" Mobile Suits from Gundam 0079: One Year War.

Inside the Boss Borot, a Plastic Model of the "Getter Dragon" from the Super Robot series "Getter Robot G" can be seen.

Unlike in the original Mazinger Z, it appears that the Mazinger Z does not have a Jet Scrander add-on.

Unlike the original Great Booster from the "Great Mazinger" TV Series, the OVA version of Great Mazinger consists of a gigantic jet instead of a small one.
