Trivia:

In some other episodes (will be updated later after recalling the episodes these parodies came from), there are about three parodies/references found apart from the Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid's appearance. One is when Mayu and stops by a bookshop showcasing some manga titles, and the audience is shown a scene focusing on the titles Mayu is currently viewing at that time. From left the mangas' titles are parodied respectively from: Naruto, Ace o Nerae! and To-LOVE-Ru, with alterations made on the illustrations on the cover and the names. In another episode during the small sketch before the OP comes in, the spelling of Comic Market (Comiket) becomes "Cyomic Market." While in yet another episode Mayu refers to an alien she has heard of which speaks the lines, "Nyoro nyoro" which is a possible reference to Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) series.

Ninomiya means "two princesses" in Japanese.

In Episode 1, the punishment Ryoko threatens Shungo with ("Coming-of-age ceremony for aliens in an underground palace in Antarctica...") is a reference to the movie "Alien vs. Predator".

in episode 3, the punishment Ryoko threatens Shungo with ("I'll chain you down to a mysterious corpse...") is a reference to the movie "Saw."

In episode 4, the butcher Yamada is mostly to be Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And Tanaka the Lumberjack is Jason Vorhees from the Friday 13th movies (along with Freddy Vs Jason). And Nakayama the press operator maybe Tony Montana from Scarface, or Jaws from one of the James Bond 007 movies (most likely Jaws).

In episode 9, Snake shows up from Metal Gear Solid.
