Trivia:

The scene where the Star Leaf crew give Elza a space burial is taken from the ending of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

The scenes where Pony and Rabby interact with the Star Leaf's computer are taken from the 1979 Ridley Scott film Alien. The revelation of Catty being an android is a take on Ash from the same film.

The scene where the boy rapidly matures is taken from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. The planet's self-destruction is also derived from the Genesis planet of the same film.

The scene where the Solnoid and Paranoid forces battle each other over the newly discovered planet while the surviving crew of the Star Leaf are caught in the middle echoes the Zenttradi and Meltrandi battle over Earth in Macross: Do You Remember Love?.

The characters' names are derived from animals, although some of the spellings got corrupted from English to Japanese and back. Rabbi=Rabbit, Patty=Panther, Rumy=Lamb, Lufy=Wolf, Pony=Pony, Catty=Cat. Eluza was named after Elsa the Lioness from "Born Free".
