Trivia:

A character described the numerous crowd at Comic Market as "men just like trash," a quote from Muska in Laputa (Castle in the Sky).

Genshiken often links with other famous anime and video games. The most obvious one is Gundam (as seen from all the Gundam models). Other's include Final Fantasy (Ohno wore Beatrix's <from ff9> costume in book 2 and Tifa <from ff7> in book 7, her boyfriend wore Stenier's knight costume <also frpm ff 9> and her friend from America wore Yuffie's costume <from ff7>) and Haregen, which apparently is a play of FMA

Volume 8, chapter 6: At Genshiken's "Try Cosplay" event, Ohno is dressed as Rider from Fate/stay Night, and Kuchiki is dressed as Lupin from Lupin III.
