PERSONAL HISTORY
 A Brief History—Born in Sabaecho in Fukui Prefecture in 1928 (Showa Era 3). Came to Tokyo and studied cartooning under Taizo Yokoyama when 22 years old. WOn a prize for excellent work in the second class of Asashi Advertising Award in 1953 in his 25th year. Afterward, entered bunka Gakuin Art School in Athene France. Established the kuri Experimental Studio and received Cartoon Award from the Bungei Shunju magazine in 1958 at age 30. Won the highest honors at the art exhibition of NIKAKAI. Begain production of animation films from 1960. The "Human Zoo" received a bronze award at the Venice Film Festival and afterward this work won eleven prizes at various other country film festivals. "Love" won the Top prize at the Oberhausen Film Festival in West Germany in 1964 when he was 36 years old. "The Maniac Age" won a Grand Prix at the Chicago Film Festival in 1967 when he was 39. A special animation exhibition of Yoji Kuri was held in Spain in 1969 when he was 41 years old. The ten posters of Yoji Kuri won a Grand Prix at Knokke International Cartoon Exhibition in Belgium. "The Midnight Parasites" won a prize for excellent work at The First New York Animation Film Festival in 1973 when he was 35 years old. Started to write a novel around 1980 in his 52nd year. Received a Purple Ribbon Medal in 1983 in his 55th year. Opened animated film by KURI at New York Metropolitan Museum in 1986 in his 58th year. Although Yoji Kuri has not been producing animation films recently, at present he is aiming at the animation of the 21st century, challenging computer graphics, picture animation, and further new ground.

"CLAP VOCAUSM" actually means "CLAP VOCALISM" but the author spells it incorrectly. Therefore, this wrong title appears on the market. However, it seems to the author that this would be considered as a terrific joke in itself.
