Monster Hunter 3 G Truck Tour Steers Clear of Fukushima

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Promotional tour marks 3DS "hunting action" game's December 10 release in Japan

In honor of the December 10 release of the Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) G game, CAPCOM will launch a nationwide truck tour through Japan to promote the 3DS game. From November 13 to December 11, the special truck will appear in various locations throughout the country.

However, the truck's path avoids Fukushima Prefecture, an area heavily affected by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster. Places the truck will visit include Sendai, Kanagawa, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, Ehime, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Tokyo.

Fans who visit the truck at one of its stops will get a chance to play one of three Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) G game demos featuring the Urcusis, Plesioth, or Bracchidios monster. While supplies last, visitors will receive a Qurupeco monster commuter pass holder. People can also take commemorative photographs and write comments about the release that will travel with the truck.

Two videos for Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) G began streaming earlier this month. The "hunting action" game will use the new "expansion slide pad" attachment for the Nintendo 3DS. Monster Hunter 3 (tri-) G will be an expanded version of the Nintendo Wii game Monster Hunter (tri-), originally released in Japan in 2009, and will include new monsters.
