Instead of with family, couples in Japan celebrate Christmas together as one of their most important nights of the year, right alongside Valentine's Day. Here are some of the ways that anime/manga/game fans and professionals have been celebrating Christmas this year:


A fan named "Kotaro" sent Bleach creator Tite Kubo photographs of a cake for a "Bleach-fans-only X'mas party." The party is being held among friends who met each other thanks to the manga.

Mutsumi Inomata (Tales of Games)

Mutsumi Inomata, the character designer of the Tales of role-playing games, posted the following art of Tales of Graces' Sophie to wish an abbreviated "Meri Kuri":

Microsoft Taiwan (Hikaru Aizawa)

The Taiwanese branch of Microsoft celebrated Christmas with a new wallpaper of Hikaru Aizawa, its moe mascot character for Silverlight, and friends.
