Rhode Island College to Present 3 Ghibli Execs with Honorary Degrees

The Rhode Island School of Design, a fine arts and design college in Providence, Rhode Island, has announced that it will honor Studio Ghibli founders and directors Hayao Miyazaki (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Spirited Away) and Isao Takahata (Only Yesterday, Grave of the Fireflies), and producer Toshio Suzuki (Whisper of the Heart, Princess Mononoke) with honorary degrees at its 2012 commencement ceremony on June 2.
Suzuki will attend the ceremony to accept the awards on behalf of the studio. Miyazaki and Takahata founded Studio Ghibli in 1985.
