Keiji Inafune reveals zombie game's setting, development status, cyborg elements

IGN began streaming an English-subtitled behind-the-scenes interview with Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi and Comcept's Keiji Inafune (Rockman/Mega Man) on Wednesday. In the video, the two discuss their current project, the Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z zombie game. Inafune discusses the game's setting, development status, and cyborg elements in the video.

Comcept and Team Ninja (Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive series) are working with Spark Unlimited (Lost Planet 3) on the game. The game will star a new ninja named Yaiba, who is chasing after Ryu Hayabusa, the protagonist of the Ninja Gaiden video game.

Inafune had revealed the game in an announcement trailer last September. Inafune remarked at the time that since he is associated as a "zombie lover," he wanted to create a zombie game. He also noted that he thought up the concept for the game soon after becoming an independent game developer, and the game will be filled with things that he likes: zombies, action, ninja, and mecha.

Inafune released the Soul Sacrifice PS Vita game in Japan on March 7, and the game is due out in North America on April 30. Inafune is also working on the Guild01 sequel Guild02.
